Welcome to MOSAIC, the affinity group at Phillips Academy dedicated to students of mixed heritage.
Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming, and open environment where students can connect with others who share similar backgrounds and experiences.
Whether you identify as mixed-heritage, bi-racial, multi-racial, or multi-ethnic, MOSAIC is a space designed just for you—a place where your unique identity is not just accepted but celebrated.
What We Do!
At MOSAIC, we hold monthly meetings that serve as a haven for discussing the complexities, challenges, and joys of being mixed-heritage. Our discussions are rich with diversity, as students from various backgrounds come together to share their stories. Whether you’re an active participant or a quiet observer, each meeting is an opportunity for self-discovery and growth.
Many members have found that listening to others helps them piece together their own identities in ways they hadn’t considered before. The act of verbalizing your experiences in such a supportive environment can be incredibly empowering, allowing you to explore your identity in a more structured and thoughtful way.
Our meetings aren’t just about serious discussions, though. They’re also a chance to relax and connect with others over snacks—yes, we always have snacks! These informal gatherings are a core part of MOSAIC’s purpose: to build a community where every member feels valued and understood.
An Open Invitation
We want to make one thing clear: there’s no pressure to attend MOSAIC meetings. Our group exists to offer a welcoming space whenever you feel ready to join. MOSAIC meets once a month, and our doors are always open to those who identify as mixed-heritage. Our goal is to provide a space free from judgment, where members can speak openly about their experiences and feel understood by others who share similar backgrounds. We believe that this under-represented group on campus deserves a place to connect, affirm, and support one another.
